National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Phu Trong received newly-accredited Mongolian ambassador Palam Sundev in Hanoi on July 13.

During the meeting, NA Chairman Trong highlighted the Vietnam-Mongolia friendship and traditional relations, adding that the Vietnamese people are always mindful of Mongolia ’s supports during their past struggles for independence and the current national construction and development process.

He said the two countries are preparing for the 55 th anniversary of the establishment of their diplomatic ties (November 17).

He also suggested that it is necessary for Vietnam and Mongolia to further boost economic, trade, cultural and educational cooperation and expressed his hope that the two countries will coordinate closely in multilateral forums.

He went on to say that Vietnam is willing to create favourable conditions for Mongolia to develop its relationship with other ASEAN countries.

He expressed his wish that the diplomat will do his utmost to promote the two countries’ relations.

On this occasion, Trong also congratulated the Mongolian people on their National Day (July 11) and said he hopes the country’s NA Chairman will soon pay an official visit to Vietnam./.
