The press is an important part of Vietnam’s revolution and it has made great contributions to the country’s successes.
This comment was made by National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Phu Trong at The Spring Newspaper Festival 2010 which opened at the Hanoi-based Vietnam Exhibition and Trade Fair Centre on February 4.
“The Vietnamese press has continually bettered itself in line with the country’s development process to attain its rightful position in the spiritual and political life of the people”, said the Chairman.
The Chairman affirmed that the growth of the press over the past years is a concrete symbol of the development of democracy in the country where information is reported from different perspectives.
The annual festival, jointly held by the Vietnam Journalists Association, the Ministry of Information and Communications, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Hanoi municipal People’s Committee, will end on February 7./.
