Hanoi (VNA) – The upcoming official visit to Australia by a high-ranking delegation from the Vietnamese National Assembly (NA) is expected to bolster the Enhanced Comprehensive Partnership between the two countries.

NA Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan made the remark while hosting a reception for Australian Ambassador to Vietnam Craig Chittick.

She took the occasion to thank the Australian Government and Parliament for their invitation and the ambassador for his close cooperation with Vietnam’s relevant agencies to prepare for the visit.

Ngan also expressed her impression on the country and people of Australia where many Vietnamese students have chosen to pursue their study.

For his part, the Australian diplomat stressed that the coming visit, led by NA Chairwoman Ngan, takes place after Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull just attended the APEC 2017 Economic Leaders’ Meeting in the central city of Da Nang.

On the occasion, the two countries’ leaders expressed their delights at the sound development of the bilateral relations towards a strategic partnership, he noted.

He underlined that Ngan’s official visit to Australia will help elevate relations between the two countries to a new height, while the participation of Vietnamese businesses will contribute to intensifying bilateral economic and trade ties.-VNA
