A delegation from the National Assembly Standing Committee and the Election Council’s Central Committee paid a working visit to the northern province of Ha Nam on Mar. 15 to inspect the province’s preparatory election work.
The delegation, headed by Vice State President Nguyen Thi Doan, hailed Ha Nam’s preparations for the elections to the 13th National Assembly and the People’s Council for the 2011-2016 period.
Since they are taking place at the same time, the elections to the 13th National Assembly and the People’s Council demand great efforts from local authorities and people, Vice President Doan noted, adding that the province should have a preventive measure if there would be a natural disaster.
She was reported that Ha Nam set up the provincial Election Committee with 25 members on Feb. 10 and had organised dissemination on the elections to all local people.
The province also intensify activities to ensure security for these elections both before and after the event./.
