National Assembly Deputy Chairwoman Tong Thi Phong has praised the work being done by the Argentina-Vietnam Friendship Parliamentarians Group to boost two-way relations.

The Deputy Chairwoman made these remarks in a meeting with the Group’s delegation headed by Chair Julia Acgentina Perié in Hanoi on November 25.

The delegation’s working visit to Vietnam at this time is a new development in relations between the two legislative bodies, Phong affirmed. She added that Vietnam and Argentina are supporting each other within the framework of the United Nations and other international organisations.

The Deputy Chairwoman expressed the hope that as a chair of the Group, Julia Acgentina Perié would urge the Argentine government to recognise Vietnam as a market economy. She suggested that the two countries promote the exchange of delegations to strengthen bilateral trade and investment, and cooperation in energy and bio-technology and to share experiences in the field of law-making.

On her part, Julia Acgentina Perié thanked Phong for hosting her delegation and affirmed that she will do her best to nourish the relations between the two parliaments and the two peoples./.
