Nearly 400 businesses and investorsnationwide participated in the conference, the fourth of its kind heldin the native land of President Ho Chi Minh , where they showedtheir strong determination to invest and expand investment in projectsin Nghe An province.
Speaking at the event, the NAChairman stated that the Party and State have defined theSocio-economic Development Plan for 2011-2020 and the Socio-economicDevelopment Strategy for 2011-2020, considering them importantfoundations for turning Vietnam into an industrialised country in2020.
To achieve that goal, localities and thebusiness community should incessantly renovate the way of thinking in arapid and sustainable direction and on the basis of a socialist-orientedmarket economy, he said.
In addition, they needto boost the reforms of management mechanisms and the nationaladministration in order to take full advantage of abundant humanresources among all people strata, creating a momentum for the country’sdevelopment, he added.
“This task requires reformnot only among cadres and civil servants in charge of State managementbut also in the business circle and the entire society,” Hung stressed.
According to Chairman of the provincial People’sCommittee Do Duc Phoc, since the first conference in 2009, more than 30investment agreements worth nearly 40 trillion VND have been signed andimplemented on schedule in Nghe An province.
Ofwhich, many social welfare projects have proven effective, helpingreduce poverty and improve the living standards for local residents.They include the 700 billion VND Sabeco packaging factory, the 1.5trillion VND Saigon-Song Lam and 800 billion VND Hanoi- Nghe An beerprojects, the 350 million USD TH milk processing plant and the 1trillion VND Dong Hoi non-burned brick project.
Nghe An province is carrying out several other large-scale projects suchas the Cua Lo deep water seaport, the Dong Hoi specialised port, theKobelco steel factory and the 2,400 MW Quynh Lap thermoelectric powerplant.
On the occasion, NA Chairman Hung offeredflowers and incense at the Temple of Emperor Quang Trung and theMonument to President Ho Chi Minh in Vinh City./.
