The 12th session of the 13 th National Assembly’s Standing Committee opened in Hanoi on October 5 under the chair of Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung.

In his opening speech, Hung said that the session will make preparations for the fourth sitting of the 13 th National Assembly, which will be held later this year.

The NA Standing Committee will consider the upcoming submission of a draft resolution on amendments and supplements to the 1992 Constitution and a draft NA resolution on collecting people’s opinions on the draft revised 1992 Constitution, he said.

The committee member will review a submission to the NA on a resolution on the process, procedures and methods of holding votes of confidence on people holding positions elected or approved by the National Assembly or People’s Councils, he added.

They will also give their opinions on the Government’s reports on the implementation of the socio-economic development plan and the estimated State budget 2012 as well as orientations and plans for 2013.

The committee will touch upon the 2012 working reports of the Chief Judge of the Supreme People’s Court, the Head of the Supreme People’s Procuracy as well as the Government’s reports on the execution of judgments, crime situation and prevention in 2012.

It will consider the Government’s reports on the goals and tasks of projects under each of the 2011-2015 National Target Programme and discuss five draft laws./.
