The National Assembly’s Standing Committee convened its 21st session in Hanoi on July 16, which will place a focus on three draft laws as well as several other issues.

The committee will debate a number of major points of the Bill on Medical Check-ups and Treatment, the Bill on the Elderly and the Bill on Militia Forces, said NA Chairman Nguyen Phu Trong at the opening session.

Members of the NA Standing Committee will review the results of the 5th session of the 12th legislature, which ended on June 19, and put forward their recommendations for the next sitting.

They will comment on the use of capital from this year’s government bond issuance, the revised budget estimates for collecting revenues from oil and gas exports and the State Audit’s development plan until 2015 with a vision to 2020.

In addition, the committee will also make suggestions on reports from the People’s Supreme Court (PSC) and the People’s Supreme Procuracy (PSP) regarding personnel change for the two councils who are responsible for choosing judges and procurators for the PSC, the Central Military Court , the PSP and the Central Military Procuracy.
