The 13th National Assembly Standing Committee convened its 21st meeting in Hanoi on September 9 to discuss a range of draft laws, including the immigration bill, the revised laws on the police, marriage and family, health insurance, public investment and land, among others.

The session is also scheduled to go through several reports on law enforcement in the fields of health insurance during the 2009-2012 period and the recruitment, training and appointment of public servants and officials.

The committee members will comment on the Government’s reports on corruption combat in 2013, the implementation of the Law on Thrift Practice and Wastefulness and the auditing plans for 2014.

The committee will mull over working reports of the Chief Justice of the Supreme People’s Court and the Prosecutor General of the Supreme People’s Procuracy as well as the Government’s reports on law enforcement, crime situation and prevention in 2013.

The session’s agenda also includes preparations for the sixth NA sitting, which is slated for October 21-November 26 and the 132 nd General Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU-132) which Vietnam will host in 2015.
