NA Standing Committee to convene 48th meeting from September 10-18

Hanoi (VNA) – The 48th meeting of the National Assembly Standing Committee will take place in Hanoi from September 10-18.

NA Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan will deliver an opening speech. She and vice chairpersons will alternately chair the session, according to an announcement released by the NA Office.

The committee is scheduled to scrutinise five draft laws, comprising the law amending and supplementing some articles of the trade union law, the law on forces safeguarding security and order at the grassroots level, the revised law on drug prevention and control, the revised law on road traffic, and the law on road traffic order and safety.

The 2015 Criminal Procedure Code, and a number of draft resolutions and reports will also be tabled for discussion during the meeting.  

Legislators will also give opinions on preparations for the 10th meeting of the NA, the inclusion of medical supplies in the national reserves, the approval of the nomination of Vietnamese ambassadors, and the establishment of Hong Ngu city in the Mekong Delta province of Dong Thap, among others./.
