The National Assembly’s Standing Committee wrapped up its 21 st session in Hanoi on September 23 after preparing contents to be discussed at the sixth session of the National Assembly - the last sitting of this year.

In his closing remarks, NA Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung, who presided over the two-week session, said the sitting will be slated for October 21-November 26.

He laid stress on the need for relevant agencies to closely work with each other to complete documents and reports scheduled to submit to the upcoming session.

The Chairman also reminded the deputies of making preparations for the 132nd General Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU-132) which will take place in Vietnam in 2015.

On the September 23 working session, the committee members commented on the draft Law on Construction (amended) for the first time.

According to Construction Minister Trinh Dinh Dung, the amended law stipulates rights and obligations of organisations and individuals involving in investing in construction projects.

Lawmakers agreed on the need to heighten the role, validity and efficiency of state management over investments in construction. They also suggested learning experience from Russia, China, the Republic of Korea and Japan in this field when compiling amendments to the law.-VNA
