The National Assembly has voted to remove NA deputy Dang Thi Hoang Yen from its list of members due to her dishonest declaration.

Most deputies present on May 26 agreed with the NA Standing Committee’s resolution to dismiss Yen.

Under the Law of Organisation of the National Assembly, a deputy will be removed from office by the NA if at least two-thirds of the total number of NA deputies vote for the removal.

According to the resolution, the 53-year-old, as a deputy of southern Long An province was dishonest in declaring her profile during the 13 th NA election process in May 2011, leading to voters forming an incorrect view of the candidate. The false declaration violated the Law on Election of National Assembly Deputies.-VNA
