Hanoi (VNA) – National Assembly Vice Chairman Do Ba Ty has asked the State Audit Office of Vietnam (SAV) and the Supreme Audit Institution of India (SAI) to enhance cooperation within bilateral and multilateral frameworks.

During a reception in Hanoi on July 5 for Comptroller and Auditor General of India Shri Shashi Kant Sharma, Ty hailed the Indian delegation’s visit, saying that Vietnam and India are celebrating many activities this year, including the 45th anniversary of diplomatic ties (January 7), the 10th anniversary of strategic partnership (July 6) and the Friendship Year 2017.

Ty expressed his wish that both sides would push forward deep and practical economic ties by lifting two-way trade in the coming years.

During the Vietnam visit by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in September 2016, PM Modi and his Vietnamese counterpart Nguyen Xuan Phuc agreed to upgrade bilateral ties to the level of comprehensive strategic partnership and defined economic cooperation as a strategic priority, he said.

Sharma, for his part, said SAV and SAI signed a cooperation agreement in 2010 to share information and professional experience.

In the near future, SAI will continue the exchange of delegations with SAV and provide help for SAV via personnel training and joint seminars, he said.-VNA
