The capital for the programme is expected to be drawn from the Statebudget, official development assistance (ODA), State preferential credits andother sources.
If it is approved, the programme would help all urbanpeople gain access to safe water by 2020 and reduce the rate of safe waterlosses to 15 percent by 2025.
According to the ministry, the country nowhas 68 water supply companies, providing usable water to about 70 percent ofpopulation in more than 750 urban areas.

Thecurrent rate of loss of clean water is much lower than in 1998 (42 percent), butmuch higher than the rates in other regional countries, the ministry said./.
