The Vietnamese Party, State and people highly esteem the contributions made by the State Guards of the People’s Police in maintaining security and social order, and in defending the nation’s revolutionary achievements, said State President Nguyen Minh Triet.

Such contributions have effectively supported national construction and development, the President commented at an inaugural ceremony for the new ‘commemorative house’ of the State Guards of the People’s Police in Hanoi on Aug. 19.

He noted that police forces have grown to advance alongside social developments and continue to making contributions to the course of the nation’s development in the renewal period.

The President spoke in particular of the loyalty, devotion, and spirit of sacrifice upheld by the State Guards in undertaking missions to protect the country’s leaders in internal and external events and activities.

He urged the Ministry of Public Security to unceasingly educate its young staff of the police forces’ traditions and loyalty to the Party, State and people to help them effectively fulfil their assigned duties.
The commemorative house was set up at Le Hong Phong street , Hanoi to honour the State Guards, which was established on February 16, 1953. On display at the site are 400 documents and objects depicting the force’s inception, development, exploits and sacrifices during the resistance wars and the national construction and development cause./.
