An estimated 80 foreign delegates who have contributed to the two wars in Vietnam and current economic development will attend the upcoming National Day celebrations.
The General Secretary of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organisations, Do Ba Khoa, said at a press briefing on August 27 that from August 29-September 2, international delegates will attend a meeting to mark the 65 th National Day, pay courtesy visits to national leaders and join a gathering themed “International reunion: 65 years of Vietnam and international solidarity”.
They will also pay a floral tribute to the late President Ho Chi Minh at his mausoleum, visit a former revolutionary base in the northern mountainous province of Thai Nguyen and call on Hanoi leaders on the occasion of the capital’s millennium anniversary.
The national defence and construction in Vietnam has been associated with solidarity and assistance from democratic, peace and justice loving forces the world over.
Vietnam considers major celebrations as a chance to express thanks to the international community as well as to promote the nation’s image, including development plans, to further develop external relations, Khoa concluded./.
