On July 12, 2018, Prime Minister NguyenXuan Phuc issued Decision No. 28/2018/QD-TTg, prescribing the sending andreceipt of e-documents among agencies in the state administrative system.
All 31 ministries and ministerial-levelagencies, 63 provinces and centrally-run cities and the Party CentralCommittee’s Office have connected with the platform with e-documents being sentand received quickly and safely.
Minister and Chairman of the GovernmentOffice Mai Tien Dung said the launch exemplifies the determination to build up e-governmentsystems.
According to a preliminary estimate, theplatform will help save over 1.2 trillion VND (52.17 million USD) each yearafter subtracting costs charged by the Vietnam Post and TelecommunicationsGroup.
Speaking at the event, PM Phuc said the launchof the platform is an important breakthrough in the sending and receipt ofdocuments from the central to local levels, thus better serving the people andbusinesses.
Ministries, agencies, and localities wereasked to continue working to complete national databases on population,insurance, finance, business registration, national land, electronic householdregistration, and specialised data, which will be connected with the platform duringthe 2020-2025 period, while ensuring absolute safety of information and cybersecurity.
The PM also required relevant agencies to createa comprehensive legal framework for the sending and receipt of e-documents onthe platform and the connection and sharing of data among state agencies. –VNA
