The Prime Minister has approved a project to construct the Vietnam National Museum of Nature, designed to be the first museum in Vietnam capable of conducting studies on natural science.

The museum will covers over 32 hectares in either the Quoc Oai biological area in Hanoi’s Quoc Oai district or the Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism in Dong Mo, Son Tay town, Hanoi.

The museum, run by the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology, will have both indoor and outdoor exhibition areas. It will contribute to preserving the natural values of Vietnam and the world, enriching the community’s knowledge of nature and raising awareness of protecting nature and the environment.

Total investment for the project has yet to be determined, but will be based on the cost of component projects and will be funded by the State budget and other sources.

Scheduled to be completed in 2025, the museum will be a leading national figure as approved in the master plan for the natural museum system between 2020 and 2030.-VNA
