The national tennis team left for a training course in Singapore on March 20 in preparation for the Davis Cup's Group II Asia/Oceania play-off match against Sri Lanka next month.

The training aims to improve their physique and skills following coach Michael Baroch's proposal.

During their four-day course, athletes will practise with the Singapore national team, whose players are both left- and right-handed.

" Sri Lanka have a powerful left-handed player. The training will help our athletes experience possible difficulties that they may face next month," said Nguyen Quoc Ky, deputy chairman of the Vietnam Tennis Federation. The match will be organised on April 4-6 in Da Lat City. The winner will stay in Group II while the loser will drop to Group III.-VNA
