A 300 million USD wastewater treatment plant, the largest of its kind in Vietnam , is expected to be put into operation in Hanoi ’s Hoang Mai district later this year.

Nguyen Le, Director General of the Hanoi Sewerage and Drainage Limited Company said on June 27 that the project, which kicked off in January, 2008, has so far finished 90 percent of its work and is expected to be fully completed in August 2011.

With a designed capacity of 200,000 cu.m, the plant, built by Malaysia ’s Gamuda Berhad under a construction and transfer contract, will treat wastewater discharged from Kim Nguu and Set rivers in Hanoi .

On June 27, Gamuda Berhad Group opened a training course on neccessary skills to operate and maintain the plant for 50 staff of the Hanoi Sewerage and Drainage Limited Company./.
