At midnight on the 2013 Lunar New Year’s Eve, fireworks will be set off around the country.

Twenty-nine fireworks displays in Hanoi will illuminate the sky above every district for 15 minutes.

People in Ho Chi Minh City will have a chance to enjoy displays in seven places around the city.

Residents in the remote districts of Van Ban and Bat Xat in the mountainous province of Lao Cai will witness fireworks in their localities for the first time. Displays are also planned for other northern provinces including Lai Chau, Tuyen Quang, Cao Bang, Bac Can, Yen Bai, Hoa Binh and Phu Tho.

In the northern delta, fireworks displays will be organised in Hai Phong, Ha Nam, Hung Yen and Ninh Binh.

Da Nang city and the central provinces of Nghe An, Quang Binh, Thua Thien - Hue , Quang Nam and Quang Ngai will set off fireworks to mark the New Year.

In the Central Highlands, performances will take place in the provinces of Lam Dong, Dak Nong, Kon Tum and Dak Lak.

People in Ninh Thuan, Binh Thuan and Khanh Hoa provinces, as well as in the southern provinces of Vinh Long, Bac Lieu, An Giang, Dong Thap, Tra Vinh, Soc Trang, Tay Ninh, Ba Ria–Vung Tau and Ca Mau and Can Tho city will also have the opportunity to enjoy fireworks this New Year’s Eve. -VNA
