Agus said in a statement on September 11 that Nestle’s additional investment is a right decision that has not only contributed to the growth of Indonesia’s manufacturing industry but also the development of the company itself as one of the largest firms in the world.
Managing Director of Nestle Indonesia Ganesan Ampalavanar is optimistic that the demands for daily necessities will still grow positively in Indonesia.
Therefore, as a company that has a long-term commitment, Nestle believes it needs to increase its production capacity to meet consumer demands, he explained.
Nestle, he continued, also provides guidance and partnerships with cattle breeders in East Java to produce fresh milk as a food stock. Then, a similar programme has been rolled out in Tanggamus, Lampung. The company buys coffee from local farmers with a value of up to 1 trillion rupiah (67 million USD) per year, most of which is raw materials for export./.
