New communications laws announced

According to Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Le Nam Thang, the Law on Telecommunications states that enterprises of all economic sectors established under Vietnamese law, are allowed to provide telecom services and set up telecom network infrastructure.
The 10-chapter and 63-article law also aims to enhance law enforcement in the telecom sector by creating a specialised telecom regulatory authority to control telecom market and professional competence.
Meanwhile, the Law on Radio Frequency provides the State policies on radio frequency and the responsibilities of State agencies in the field.
The eight-chapter and 49-article law also stipulates types of relevant licenses and their duration, regulations and conditions of licensing./.
