A film about President Ho Chi Minh when he was a young man is to be produced by the Vietnam Cinema Association (Hodafilm), and will be screened next May to celebrate his 120th birthday.

“Nhin ra bien ca” (Look out over the sea) is just one of a number of movies that reflects the early life of President Ho Chi Minh following the films “Hen gap lai Saigon” (See you again in Saigon) and “Nguyen Ai Quoc o Hong Kong” (Nguyen Ai Quoc in Hong Kong).

The movie “Nhin ra bien ca” is set in 1909-1910 when the President worked as a teacher under the name Nguyen Tat Thanh at Duc Thanh School in the southern central province of Phan Thiet .

Its script was written by Nguyen Thi Hong Ngat, who won second prize at the “Study and Follow Uncle Ho’s Example” film scripts’ contest.

The film will be shot in Phan Thiet and Binh Dinh provinces and the old capital city of Hue and focus on Duc Thanh School , said the film’s director Tran Luc, who played Uncle Ho in the movie “Nguyen Ai Quoc in Hong Kong .”
The young Thanh absorbed knowledge both of Western culture and Confucianism from his family. The film shows that the young man had a passionate love for his country and a fervent determination to travel overseas and find a way to liberate the Vietnamese people from French colonialists. Director Tran Luc hopes the movie will bring to young people a more in-depth look at President Ho Chi Minh in his daily life.

The Hodafilm is currently looking for an actor to play the main character Nguyen Tat Thanh.

The film is scheduled to be shot in early October./.
