The Central province of Quang Nam supports and facilitates two low-cost carriers Jetstar Pacific Airlines and Vietjet air to open return flights between Chu Lai and Ho Chi Minh City.
The statement was made by Tran Dinh Tung, Vice Chairman of the Quang Nam provincial People’s Committee during a working session with Jetstar Pacific Airlines’ leaders on April 15.
Accordingly, Jetstar Pacific Airlines will operate three flights weekly, on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday, using 180-seat Airbus 320s. The airline will inaugurate its first flight on May 19 to honour the late President Ho Chi Minh’s 125th birthday.
Earlier, the province also approved Vietjet air’s plan to run the same route with four flights each week on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. The air carrier will fly its first route on May 27.
Chu Lai airport has upgraded its technical infrastructure to meet airline demand.
The province will also provide financial support to transport passengers from Tam Ky city to the airport, and vice versa.-VNA
