Vietnam has a great chance to boost cooperation with other countries in the field of e-commerce as a member of the Asia Pacific Council for Trade Facilitation and Electronic Business (AFACT).

Businesses from the country can also learn from and share experience with other member countries and territories worldwide in the field to enhance their sustainable cooperation, said Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Tran Tuan Anh at the council’s 31st plenary session from November 28-29 in Ho Chi Minh City.

According to AFACT General Secretary Mahmood Zargar, the council will continue facilitating trade operation in both private and state-run companies, reduce trade costs, and open training courses for its members to sharpen their skills.

The eAsia Award ceremony and the Edicom exhibition will be held during the event to honour projects on trade facilitation and introduce e-commerce application solutions into business operations.

With 19 member countries and territories, the AFACT aims to promote the commitment and development of trade facilitation, electronic business policies and activities in the Asia Pacific region.-VNA
