The national population and housing census will kick off from April 1 in more than 11,000 communes, wards and towns nationwide, according to the General Statistics Office (GSO).
The census, expected to finish before April 20, will not include people living in areas under the management of the army and public security, according to the GSO.
It will cover 5 percent of the total households in the 20 percent of the total selected localities, equivalent to 1.12 million households.
Information on the households’ members and the number of births and deaths during the last five years will be collected, the GSO added.
The results of the census are scheduled to be announced in October.-VNA
