New President of labour general confederation named
The Vietnam General Confederation of Labour (VGCL) on April 14 elected Bui Van Cuong as its President to replace Dang Ngoc Tung.
VGCL President Bui Van Cuong (Source: VNA)Cuong, born in 1965 in the northern province of Hai Duong, is a member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam.
He was Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Central Committee, Vice Secretary of the Party Committee of Gia Lai province, deputy head of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Mass Mobilisation, and Secretary of the Party Committee of the Central Business Bloc.
Speaking after the election, the new VGCL President asked trade unions at all levels to improve operations to increase the capacity of their members and the quality of their activities.-VNA
