Nghe An (VNA) – The border guard force in the central province of Nghe An said it has caught a suspect who was trafficking 3,000 synthetic drug pills from Laos to Vietnam.

On August 21, the force’s unit at the Thanh Thuy border gate, in collaboration with the border force of the northern province of Nam Dinh, arrested Lao national Phoong Xong in Thanh Thuy commune, Thanh Chuong district, Nghe An.

Phoong Xong, born in 2003 in Laos’ Bolikhamsai province, was caught red handed carrying 15 blue packages containing 3,000 synthetic drug pills.

The Nghe An border guard force has followed the case for two months up until the arrest.

The suspect said he smuggled the drug to Vietnam for profit.

The case is under further investigation. –VNA
