A meeting to celebrate the 32 nd anniversary of victory of the Sandinista revolution and the 50 th founding anniversary of the Sandinista National Liberation Front (FSNL) was held in Nicaraguan capital city of Managua on July 20.

Speaking at the event, State President, Chairman of FSLN Daniel Ortega reviewed the history of the heroic struggle for the country’s independence before 35 foreign delegations and half a million people, following Augusto Sandino’s ideology which peaked with the victory in 1979, which overthrew the Somoza dictatorship.

The President affirmed the spirit “Christ, socialism and solidarity” in which Nicaragua builds the country. He also emphasised continued strengthening of the national unity to fight poverty and deal with the challenges in the new era.

Representing the Communist Party of Vietnam, Vietnamese Ambassador to Cuba Vu Chi Cong attended the anniversary activities.

Ambassador, Cong paid a courtesy visit to President Ortega and presented to the leader of Nicaragua the book "The political writings of President Ho Chi Minh".

Ortega thanked Cong for his presence at the FSLN’s celebration, confirming that the presence is a great encouragement to the revolution of FSLN in the Central America country./.
