Nigerians face prosecution for drug smuggling

The Supreme People’s Procuracy said on August 30 that it has completed indictments for the prosecution of several Nigerians in two separate cases of drug trafficking and transport, together with their local accomplices.

In one case, 33-year-old Michael Ikenna Nduanya and a group of Nigerians residing in Ho Chi Minh City enlisted Nguyen Thi Hai Anh, who was living with Michael as husband and wife, to help them transport drugs from India via Cambodia to Vietnam and then China .

In the other case, three Nigerians namely Ben Blessed, 30, Anyanwu Chima Stanley, 32, and Ozogu John, 30, and a Vietnamese woman named Pham Thi Thanh Trang, 33, in HCM City ’s Binh Tan district, were arrested in July 2009. They were found to be part of a ring that hires Vietnamese women to transport drugs from Southeast Asian countries to Vietnam and then a third country./.
