Nine arrested in Malaysia over IS links
Malaysian police have arrested nine men for suspected involvement in activities related to the Islamic State (IS) group.

Malaysia’s Inspector-General of Police Khalid Abu Bakar stated on March 24 that all the arrested were Malaysian citizens aging between 26 and 46.
They were detained during counter-terrorism operations across the states of Selangor, Perak, Kedah, Kelantan and Johor from March 15-21, he added.
There was a 37-year-old primary school teacher who was arrested in Kedah and police say he admitted to spreading IS ideology through his Facebook account in order to recruit new members.
As of Feb 22, a total of 234 Malaysians suspected to be involved with IS have been detained by the local police.-VNA
