Nine provinces to get rice from national reserves

Nearly 7,000 tonnes of rice from the national reserves will be distributed to impoverished households in nine provinces across the country in this year’s between-crop period.

Under the Prime Minister’s decision No. 292/QĐ-TTg, the centralprovinces of Quang Ngai, Quang Binh and Quang Tri will receive 1,371tonnes, 1,219 tonnes and 668 tonnes, respectively.

Thenorthern provinces of Ha Nam and Ninh Binh will receive more than 1,280tonnes and 265 tonnes, respectively, while the northern mountainousprovince of Lai Chau will get 847 tonnes.

The Central Highlandsprovinces of Gia Lai and Kon Tum will receive more than 475 tonnes andnearly 280 tonnes. Southern Ninh Thuan province will get more than 520tonnes.

The PM asked the provincial People's Committees topromptly deliver the food aid to local residents. Provinces that stillface difficulties after receiving the assistance can report to theMinistry of Finance and the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and SocialAffairs.

Earlier this year, the Prime Ministerdecided to allocate rice from the national reserves to 17 provinces,including Lao Cai, Yen Bai, Tuyen Quang, Cao Bang, Ninh Binh, Ha Nam,Nghe An, Thanh Hoa, Binh Dinh, Quang Ngai, Quang Binh, Quang Tri, DakLak, Gia Lai, Kon Tum, Ninh Thuan and Phu Yen.-VNA

The assembly comprises a main bridge structure weighing about 1,400 tonnes and a specialised steel supporting frame weighing around 2,000 tonnes. During testing, about 30 self-propelled modular transporters were used to lift the assembly 40cm off the ground for technical inspections. Sensors and monitoring equipment recorded key parameters.
