Hanoi (VNA) – The ninth conference of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Central Committee concluded in Hanoi on January 9 after two days in session.

In his closing remarks, President of the VFF Central Committee Tran Thanh Man said during the conference, delegates looked into the coordination and action programme of the committee for 2019, including seven important proposals with a high rate of consensus.

He urged the VFF at all levels and its member organisations to conduct further reforms in order to better perform their roles and tasks, especially in understanding the aspirations of people of all social strata, as well as social supervision and criticism.

Man also emphasised the need to improve the quality of VFF-launched campaigns and movements, alongside front personnel and particularly those holding key positions, thus meeting requirements of the new period.

He asked the VFF and its member organisations to coordinate with all-level authorities to ensure a happy Tet (Lunar New Year) festival for social policy beneficiaries.

On this occasion, the VFF Central Committee presented certificates of merit to VFF chapters and member organisations, and individuals in recognition of their contributions to front work. –VNA
