Several North American bands excited numerous young music fans with their catchy tunes and new style of songs at the on-going Hue Festival.

Apart from Little Wing, Angel, Manic Depressio, ‘Kimion William and Kimotion vs 2’ from the US surprised audiences when they played their latest number called ‘the story of Hue ’.

They were inspired to write the song after performing at the Hue Festival in 2008.

Dang Thi Huyen Trang from Hanoi who was at the gig said she enjoyed their concert despite the fact that she could not understand all the lyrics. The audience were very impressed and the bands style went down very well.

Meanwhile, the five-member combo Los Tradicionales from Cuba entertained Latin music fans with their impromptu arrangements and traditional instruments including the flamenco guitar, marimbula, requinto (a four-stringed guitar), maracas and bongo drums.

Le Thi Y Nhi, a student from the Hue Music Conservatory, said that American music is sometimes strange and peculiar but the musicians won over the audience with their wholehearted and spirited performance.

The nine-day Hue Festival, with the theme ‘Cultural Heritage with Integration and Development’, will last until June 13./.
