Northeast monsoon to hit northern region this weekend

Source: VNA)Hanoi (VNA) – A northeast monsoon wave is forecast to hit the northern region on October 12, lowering temperatures by 3 to 10 degrees Celsius, according to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting.
Temperatures in Hanoi are expected to drop to 19-22 degree Celsius, said Tran Quang Nang, head of the centre’s weather forecast department.
Meanwhile, mountainous areas will experience a temperature drop to 15-18 degree Celsius, he said.
High mountainous areas such as Mau Son, Sa Pa and Tam Dao could see the lowest temperature of 12 degree Celsius.
The monsoon is also set to bring heavy rains to northern mountainous areas and some northern central provinces. Rains are expected in these areas from October 13-16./.
