Total Official Development Assistance (ODA) capital through agreements signed with donors reached over 2 billion USD by July 15, a year-on-year increase of 35 percent, the Ministry of Planning and Investment (MPI) reported.

Of the amount, an estimated 1.4 billion USD was disbursed in the first seven months, meeting 78 percent of the yearly target.

The positive figures show joint efforts between ministries, local authorities and international donors, including the cooperation between the MPI and the WB to review the implementation of 20 WB-funded projects, according to MPI.

The ministry said it had also worked with a group of six development banks and the Partnership Group on Assistant Effectiveness (PGAE) to take measures to boost ODA disbursement and the implementation of ODA-funded projects.

Another key element is the ratification of the UN-EU Guidelines for Financing of Local Cost in Development Cooperation in Vietnam-Version 2009 in order to improve the quality of EU and UN-funded projects./.
