Odon Vallet scholarships granted to students

September 1 presented 364 scholarships worth over 900 million VND to
outstanding students in central Quang Binh, Quang Tri and Ha Tinh
provinces.
Speaking at the award ceremony, Prof. Odon Vallet congratulated scholarship recipients and thanked Prof. Tran Thanh Van, President of Rencontres du Vietnam (Meeting Vietnam) organisation for his assistance.
According to a representative from Quang Binh province, all high school students in the province who received Odon Vallet scholarships during the 2007-2008 school year passed the entrance exams to universities nationwide.
After the event, the Rencontres du Vietnam professors will continue their journey to grant scholarships to students in the central province of Nghe An and the capital city of Hanoi from Sept. 3-9.
In the 2008-2009 school year, the Odon Vallet Scholarship Fund plans to present 2,100 scholarships worth 6 billion VND to outstanding Vietnamese students.
Prof. Odon Vallet, a doctor of law at the Paris-based Sorbonne University , has devoted all of his family inheritance to granting scholarships to outstanding students in France and Vietnam./.
