A Vietnam office based in the Economic Promotion Agency of Italy’s Tuscany region officially made its debut on September 17, marking a development in the relationship between Vietnam and the Tuscany region in particular and the two countries in general.
Speaking at a press briefing, Vietnamese Deputy Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son spoke highly of the coordination between the region and the Vietnamese Embassy to establish the office.
The office will operate as a bridge to enhance economic, trade and investment ties between the two sides’ businesses, turning the Italian region into a leading destination for Vietnamese businesses and vice versa, the diplomat said.
For his part, Tuscany President Enrico Rossi said Vietnam is of the most dynamic economies in Asia and a strategic foothold that helps Italian businesses expand to other markets.
A number of businesses from the Tuscany region and other Italian localities are operating effectively in Vietnam, he noted.
General Director of the Tuscany Economic Promotion Agency Stefano Giovanneli pledged to create favourable conditions for the office, meeting demands of both Italian and Vietnamese enterprises, especially in areas of Tuscany’s strength.
On this occasion, representatives of the Association of Vietnamese Entrepreneurs in Italy , the Vietnam Association of Consumption Goods Development and the Hanoi Business Association signed memoranda of understanding on cooperation in information exchange.
Accordingly, the concerned parties will serve as bridges for Vietnamese and Italian businesses and coordinate to organise economic, cultural, trade and tourism events annually.
