Vice President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Central Committee Le Ba Trinh on December 23 visited Catholic dignitaries and followers in the central province of Thanh Hoa in the lead up to Christmas.

Wishing local Catholics a merry and happy Christmas, Trinh wanted them to continue supporting and working with the State to improve the living conditions of local people and build the great national unity bloc.

Bishop Nguyen Chi Linh expressed his hope that the VFF will obtain more achievements under the direction of its new President Nguyen Thien Nhan.

The same day, deputy head of the Steering Committee for the Central Highlands region H’ Ngam Nie Kdam and her entourage visited and presented gifts to Catholic and Protestant dignitaries and followers in Dak Lak province.

The officials hailed local Catholics’ contributions to the socio-economic development of the province and the region at large, and wanted them to maintain their unity for the province’s construction.

Local bishops and parsons vowed to continue encouraging Christians to strive for socio-economic development goals and the stability of local defence and security.-VNA
