Hanoi (VNA) – The annual Olympic Run Day for Public Health and the 46th HaNoi Moi Newspaper Run for peace were launched simultaneously at a ceremony inHanoi on March 24.

Speakingat the ceremony, Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee Ngo Van Quy saidthe runs are meaningful and practical training activities for people.

Arun around Hoan Kiem Lake area took place in response to the launch, drawingthe participation of Vice Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Le Khanh Hai,representatives of Hanoi’s authorities, armed force, and physical trainingcentres, and over 8,000 local residents.

Theevent was estimated to attract more than 7 million participants nationwide.

Thesame day, the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports held competitions ofvarious sports, including badminton, sepak takraw, shuttlecock kicking, andtraditional Vietnamese martial arts, along Dinh Tien Hoang street. The activityaimed to celebrate the 73th traditional day of Vietnam’s sport and physicaltraining sector (March 27, 1946 – 2019).-VNA
