A ceremony was held in Hanoi on September 22 to receive one million glasses of pasteurised milk donated by TH Group to impoverished students living in islands and border areas.

Addressing the event, Minister of Education and Training Pham Vu Luan spoke highly of the TH Group’s joint effort with several provinces in implementing a school milk programme to make nutritious milk accessible to underprivileged children in far-flung areas.

TH School Milk, a TH Group line of micronutrient fortified milk products, was certificated by the Ministry of Health as a pasteurised milk line suitable to children at school ages.

The line won the ASEAN Best Food Award in June and three gold, three silver and one bronze awards at the World Food Moscow 2015 on September 17.

The TH Group has worked with the People’s Committee of central Nghe An province to carry out a school children milk feeding project in the 2015-2016 school year, started off by giving free fresh milk to more than 400,000 children at local kindergartens and primary schools as the school year began on September 5.

Furthermore, the firm has raised a school milk fund with the aim of making milk accessible to all students and improving physical status of Vietnamese children.

It has teamed up with the ministry to organise four charity events that presented pasteurised milk to needy children since November 2014 and so far, the company has given away 16 million glasses of milk to students across the country.-VNA
