One more death from A/H1N1 flu confirmed

the A/H1N1 influenza, bringing the country’s total casualties from the
flu 15.

The latest fatality was a 21-year old female patient in Ho Chi Minh City who was 28 weeks pregnant. She was brought to the Can Gio district hospital with symptoms of cough and fever then transferred to the Ho Chi Minh City Heart Hospital and treated with Tamiflu. However, she died of pneumonia and heart failure on September 27.
Also on Sept. 29, 248 new infections of the potentially fatal disease were reported.
So far, Vietnam has confirmed 8,853 cases of the A/H1N1 flu, resulting in 15 deaths. The epidemic has spread to 56 provinces and cities and more than 100 schools nationwide.
A total of 7,188 patients have been discharged from hospital after treatment. The remainder are under quarantine and being treated. All are in stable condition./.
