Maria Soledad Fuentes Gomez was awarded with the Friendship Medal of
the State President of Vietnam on July 7.
The honour was presented by Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Quoc Cuong, for the ambassador’s active contributions to the strengthening and development of multifaceted relations between Vietnam and Spain during her term.
Ambassador Gomez thanked the state and government of Vietnam for the esteemed prize, promising that she would continue to play her part in promoting relations between Spain and Vietnam , a country that she said has engraved so many wonderful impressions on her mind.
In recognition of the outgoing ambassador’s contribution, President Nguyen Minh Triet and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Pham Gia Khiem, on the same day, hosted farewell receptions in her honour./.
