The statement was made by Deputy Foreign Minister Nguyen Thanh Son, who is also Head of the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Affairs, after his working visit to Australia from May 13-18.
During the visit to Australia , the Deputy Foreign Minister met and worked with the diplomatic representative agency of Vietnam, the Vietnamese Business Association and Vietnamese people in Australia .
At the meetings, Son informed delegates of the current situation as well as the open policies of Vietnam , which underlined the Vietnamese government’s special attention to Vietnamese compatriots abroad, including in Australia .
He also praised the patriotism of Vietnamese people in Australia and called on them to continue contributing to the country’s global integration and sustainable development in the future.-VNA
