Overseas Vietnamese in Belgium celebrated the Lunar New Year on February 2, the third day of the festive holiday with music, traditional specialities and folk games.

Addressing the event, Ambassador to Belgium Pham Sanh Chau reviewed key events in bilateral ties in 2013, expressing hope that the OV will continue to stay united and reap more successes to become a strong community.

Former High Commissioner of Belgium’s French-speaking community Philippe Suinen hailed the close cooperation between the two nations, particularly in education, training, health care and aerospace.
Earlier on February 1, Vietnamese Ambassador to the Czech Republic Truong Manh Son attended a festival in Karlovy Vary city to ring in the New Year.

He also took the occasion to call in at several successful business owners.

Established in November 2009, the city chapter of OV association now groups over 2,500 members. It also offers Vietnamese language training courses designed for Vietnamese children.-VNA
