A meeting to promote cooperation between the Vietnam Association of Science and Experts in France (AVSE) with concerned agencies at home has been organised in Paris.

Hosted by AVSE, an organisation of Vietnamese intellectuals, the meeting summarised the association’s activities in 2011 and discussed several plans for activities this year.

It also reviewed the working results between AVSE and Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations (VUSTA), the Ministry of Science and Technology and Ministry of Education and Training, in order to deliberate on a future orientation for cooperation between the agencies.

Participants gathered in a round-table meeting, themed “Mathematics development in Vietnam ” with a presentation by Ngo Dac Tuan, Vice Chairman of AVSE.

During the meeting, participants also discussed a number of activities in the fields of telecoms, IT and communications in Vietnam , plans to organise workshops on nuclear power and preparations for the launch of an economic magazine from AVSE.

AVSE plans to organise an event called “Journée doctorale” for Vietnamese and foreign postgraduates, who have common concerns at Cachan university (Escole Normale Supérieure de Cachan) in June.

This event is scheduled to focus on discussion of many subjects in the fields of natural sciences, social sciences, humanities and applied sciences.-VNA
