More than 800,000 high school graduates nationwide sat for the first wave of university entrance examination on July 4.

Around 2 million high school students have registered for this year’s exams which will last until July 16.

In the capital city, which is home to many prestigious universities, police have been mobilised to be on duty at key roads and places near the sites where the exams are being held to ensure no traffic jam happens. They are aided by 145 mobile patrol teams during rush hours to smooth traffic flow.

Volunteer youth groups are active at 20 hot spots of traffic jams to give a helping hand in response to traffic congestion.

To meeting sudden increase in transport demands during the exams, the National Steering Committee for Traffic Safety has called for bus stations and transport businesses to increase more bus trips and offer the best and safe means of transport for candidates.-VNA
