Overseas Vietnamese raise funds for charity

The Association of Hai Phong Fellow-Countrymen in Canada has raised over 40,000 Canadian dollars to help poor people and victims of natural disasters in Vietnam.
The Association of Hai Phong Fellow-Countrymen in Canada has raised over 40,000 Canadian dollars to help poor people and victims of natural disasters in Vietnam.

The funds were channelled to the Vietnam Red Cross Association and the Fund for the Poor.

The association on May 8 held a meeting in Toronto , Canada , to celebrate the 55 th anniversary of liberation of their home city (May 13).

Established three years ago, the association coordinated well with the Vietnamese Embassy in Canada to consolidate overseas Vietnamese community in Canada , hold meetings and cultural exchanges.

Through those activities, they got updates about the country’s development and raised funding to help disadvantaged people in the country./.
