OVs in Bulgaria raise fund for coast guard, fisheries surveillance forces

The Vietnamese Embassy in Bulgaria and the Vietnamese Association in the country has raised funds in support of Vietnam’s coast guard and fisheries surveillance forces and fishermen who are day and night safeguarding the national sea and island sovereignty.

Speakingat the fund-raising ceremony on June 28, Ambassador Le Duc Luu said theactivity reflected the patriotism and responsibility of Vietnamesepeople living and working in Bulgaria towards their homeland, thuscreating a combined strength in the struggle for protecting thecountry’s territorial integrity and sovereignty.

Luualso briefed participants on latest developments in the East Seaafter China illegally placed its Haiyang Shiyou-981 oil rig inVietnam ’s continental shelf and exclusive economic zone in early May.

Hereiterated the consistent policy of the Vietnamese Party, State,Government and National Assembly of solving disputes at sea by peacefulmeans in line with international law.

More than 3,860 USD were raised during the ceremony.

Onthe occasion, participants also donated 2,000 USD to families that wereaffected by the recent flood and whirlwinds in the cities of Varna ,Dobrich and Veliko Tarnovo in Bulgaria ’s southeast region.-VNA

Phu Tho: 200kg bomb safely relocated, detonated

According to a report by the Phu Tho Military Command, local residents spotted the bomb on August 31 in the Da River after the river water receded, exposing it beneath mud and soil on the riverbed. The bomb remained intact, including its fuse, and was located about 300m from a residential area.

Under a draft decree replacing Decree 63, authorities will have to proactively pull information from databases and records for informational or technical procedures. Applicants would no longer be required to resubmit documents, and certification or information requests could not be turned into discretionary licensing through an “ask – give” mechanism.
